The Ladybug and the Black Cat: Chapter 3

Yay! Chapter 3 is finally here! Sorry it took so long guys, It's just that I had some issues over the past month, plus the fact I never really feel like writing anything until super late at night (I really need to do something about that). Anyways, enjoy the chapter!

Chapter 3: In the car with Adrien

Marinette dialed her home number, the phone at her house started ringing and her mother, Sabine picked it up. "Hello?" Sabine asked wondering who it was.

"Hi Mom, it's Marinette! Hope I'm not bothering you or anything!" Marinette said on the phone.

"Oh, No worries dear!" Sabine said as she was always delighted to talk to her little girl. "What do you need?" She asked her daughter.

"OK, listen." Marinette said preparing her mother for what she's about to ask her. "Is it alright if I go to Adrien's place today after school?"

"Well of course it is sweetie! Just be back by 9:00, ok Marinette?" Sabine said.

"Oh thanks Mom! I love you!" Marinette happily said to her mother.

"Love you too sweetie!" Sabine replied before hanging up.

"Who was it, honey?" her husband Tom said as he entered the room startling her a little.

"It was Marinette, she said she's gonna hang out at Adrien's today." Sabine told her husband.

"You mean the blonde kid she always talks about?" Tom asked before Sabine nodded.

"Awww! I knew she would pull it off someday!" Tom said feeling happy for their daughter. "Oh I can see it now! Adrien and Marinette Agreste!" He said while lifting his arm.

"Whoa! Don't get too carried away Tom, they're just hanging out right now." Sabine chuckled to her husband.

"Oh right, sorry!..." Tom said before reminding his wife. "You know, I remember the day we first met like it was yesterday."

"Oh stop it!" Sabine said blushing. "I saw you and thought to myself, you were so pretty!" Tom said making her blush more.

"Tom! I said stop!" Sabine exclaimed while smiling.

"Come on, honey! You know you thought I was irresistible! Tom said flirtatiously while putting his arms around her waist and then proceeds to tickle her.

"TOM!" Sabine exclaimed while laughing her head off before Tom gave her a dip kiss.

Meanwhile back at school, after Marinette got off the phone with her mom, she was really happy with what her mother just told her.

"So It's official?" Adrien asked. "Yup" Marinette responded with a chuckle. "Cool, I'll see you later! Adrien said before walking away.

Chloe and Sabrina overheard their conversation, and Chloe did not like it one bit.

"This is unacceptable! I should be going to Adrien's place! Not her! I'm stopping this right now!" Chloe exclaimed before Sabrina stopped her by grabbing her arm.

"Wait, Chloe! Are you sure you wanna do this? Because you might end up getting another detention!" Sabrina pointed out.

Chloe stood there looking at Sabrina for a second before ultimately deciding to listen to her because she knew she was right.

"Ugh! This is so unfair!" Chloe exclaimed as she just started crying and Sabrina once again held her shoulder for comfort.

Marinette continued to stand there as her head was now in the clouds because the thought of finally being able to hang out with Adrien Agreste felt like a dream come true.

"That was pretty smooth girl! But you should really be careful with what you say to him Marinette!" Alya said suddenly jumping into the conversation after she watched the whole thing.

"He said yes!" Marinette said with her head still in the clouds while blushing like hell.

Alya sighed and shook her head unamused "Whatever girl, I'll catch you later." She chuckled before going to see Nino.

Marinette was so far from reality that she fainted. "Ow!" Tikki exclaimed as she just felt the impact inside her bag.

"Marinette, you almost crushed me!" Tikki exclaimed after she floated out of Marinette's bag.

"Sorry Tikki, It's just......*sigh* I finally get to hang out with him!" Marinette said feeling like she was in heaven.

But once she got up, she started to panic like always. "Oh, gosh! I'm hanging out with Adrien! What if I trip or something and his dad doesn't accept me, then I'll never get to see him again! Oh what have I done?! I gotta cancel!" Marinette cried.

"Marinette! Calm down! Everything will be fine as long as you don't panic." Tikki said.

"But how do I talk to him?! You know I stammer whenever I'm next to him!" Marinettte exclaimed.

"Really? Because I barely remember you doing that in the last few months." Tikki smiled in confidence.

Marinette then started thinking about the last few conversations she had with Adrien and suddenly remembered that while she was still nervous, she was able to talk to him more properly lately.

"Wow, you're right Tikki! I've been stammering less and less since we first met! That means I CAN do this!" Marinette exclaimed feeling more confident about herself.

"That's the spirit Marinette!" Tikki exclaimed routing for her friend.

When school finally ended and Marinette was on her way out, she saw the silver car that Adrien's bodyguard drives and then she saw Adrien open the door for her.

"I can't believe this is finally happening!" Marinette thought to herself. Adrien offered her to take her home before, but she rejected it for some odd reason, but this time she knew she couldn't turn down an opportunity like this.

"Go on!" Alya said to her insisting her to get in the car.

Then Marinette proceeded to walk down the stairs on her way to car when all of a sudden "WAH!" she was so distracted that she missed a step and fell on her butt.

"Whoa!" Adrien exclaimed running towards Marinette to help her.

'Ow!' Marinette thought to herself while rubbing her butt with pain.

"You OK Marinette?" Adrien asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." Marinette said while still in a little pain and a little embarrassed for falling again in front of her crush.

Luckily Adrien was kind enough to help her up and escort her into the car.

Once they were in the car, and Adrien's bodyguard started driving on the way to his house, the two were dead silent for a minute as Marinette was starting to get real nervous again because this was her first time going to Adrien's house to actually hang out with him, since she only came to his house before either to save the day as Ladybug or to just give a book back to his father.

It wasn't until Adrien finally broke the silence where things started to pick up. "So how was your day?" Adrien asked Marinette.

While Marinette was still kinda scared to talk to him, she still tried her hardest to keep a straight face. "Oh! uh, it was alright I guess" Marinette said.

"Sorry about what happened with Chloe. She didn't hurt you too much, did she? "Adrien said.

"Uh no, I'm quite fine actually" Marinette chuckled.

"Good, and I'm sorry for snapping at her in front of you too, I know she's been my friend since I was a kid and all but she never really felt like a real friend compared to you guys, and the only reason she was my friend is because she was the only one dad actually liked, and thought everyone else was a bad influence to me" Adrien explained with a frown.

Marinette then remembered the time Adrien told her about never going to school before and not having any real friends. "Adrien, I'm...I'm so sorry." she said while sympathizing him.

"It's OK, I'm the one who should be sorry". Adrien replied.

He really hated himself for snapping because he was never like that before, and started to wonder if his cold father is making him this way. And Marinette just couldn't help but to feel sorry for her crush.

At the same time, Adrien was thinking about what Chloe said to Marinette earlier and wondered if he should say something, normally he'd let stuff like this go, but he didn't want things to be more awkward in the future.

"By the way... Chloe said you had a crush on me, is this true?" Adrien asked as he already kinda regretted asking that question.

That question suddenly put Marinette into shock and she absolutely had no clue what to say now.

"W-what are you talking about Adrien? I don't have a crush on you! What makes you think I have a crush on you?! Marinette nervously chuckled while blushing.

"Well you do seem to get really nervous when you're around me except for when we're with Alya or Nino". Adrien said making Marinette very scared and speechless.

"But it's OK, this is nothing new to me!" Adrien laughed referring to the many girls who asked for his autograph, which made Marinette less embarrassed.

"Listen, you're a very nice girl, but I'm just not looking for a girlfriend right now. I hope you understand that." Adrien lied not wanting her to know about his secret crush on Ladybug.

"Oh...Yeah I understand." Marinette said. She was relieved that he was more forgiving than she expected although she was a bit disappointed that he said he wasn't looking for a girlfriend but at the same time she still had a little hope that she has a chance with him.

Adrien then turned around and thought to himself 'You are pretty cute though.'

"So have you been working on anything lately, Marinette?" Adrien asked referring to her fashion designing.

"Oh uh, yes as a matter of fact I have" Marinette said before she started digging into her backpack looking for her sketch pad.

She then took it out and showed her new designs to Adrien. "Wow, you've really outdone yourself Marinette!" Adrien complimented her.

"You think so?" Marinette asked.

"Yeah, you should consider working for my dad someday" Adrien said.

"Really? I'd be honored!" Marinette said.

While Marinette and Adrien were talking, Plagg snuck his head out of Adrien's bag trying to get Tikki's attention. "Hey! Tikki!...Tikki!" Plagg whispered.

Tikki then snuck her head out of Marinette's bag and whispered "Not right now, Plagg, we'll talk later.

Plagg nodded and they both went back in their owners' bags as they just arrived at Adrien's house. "We're here!" Adrien said.
