Hey JackHammer here, and welcome to another movie review.
Now let me make one thing perfectly clear! I am not a comic book guy! I never read any of the comics from DC or Marvel! I'm just a guy who likes watching some of the comic book movies with Batman, Superman and Spider-Man. Which means I'm not that familiar with Wonder Woman, heck I didn't even watch the Justice League cartoon growing up (other than a few episodes)
And at first, I wasn't interested in seeing this because the new DC extended universe was not off to a good start! With their first 3 films having mixed to poor reviews and divided opinion. Now I thought Man of Steel was alright, and I admit that it has some cool stuff, but seeing how Christopher Nolan is attached to it, I feel it tries too hard to be The Dark Knight trilogy. Batman V Superman had some cool stuff too, Ben Affleck isn't as bad as we thought he would be as Batman, and Wonder Woman did steal the show at the end despite only appearing for a few minutes, but at the same time that's the film's biggest problem, I feel they try to jam in and rush a lot of story arcs and characters just so they can get to the Justice League movie faster, when in reality just seeing Batman Vs Superman would have been more than enough! Also, I think they killed off Superman too early, and Jesse Eisenberg was just terrible as Lex Luthor! And I didn't see Suicide Squad yet so I can't comment.
But after seeing the surprising amount of good reviews, I got curious and went to see it at the last minute. and oh my god IT WAS F*CKING AWESOME!
I mean where do I f*cking start?! The story starts off a tad slow but it does keep you sucked in, I mean it's not like the previous DC films where they try so hard to sound important that it becomes complicated to follow, they keep it straight forward and understandable, and another thing is that they don't try to make it needlessly dark and gritty like Fan4stic or the other DC universe films. They still make it dark but it's also colorful and has a few good jokes in it. In fact, some of the scenes in this film actually pay homage to the first Superman movie with Christopher Reeve!
The characters are likeable and funny too, and they actually help Wonder Woman throughout the film, and you do feel for them when something bad happens. Although the villains (without giving anything away) feel a little underdeveloped and corny (which is pretty much a big problem in most comic book movies nowadays), and it this film even goes to modern Disney territory where they throw in a surprise twist villain which is getting pretty repetitive now.
The action is amazing! But It's not like the Transformers films where it has a lot of action scenes but no story. We actually care about the characters in here, and that's what makes the action more fun to watch! From the fight between the Amazons and the Germans at the beginning of the film to the fight scenes between with Wonder Woman and the British against the Germans in World War I!
But of course the best thing about this film is Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman! She is just so loveable, but she's not perfect either, she still has things to learn throughout the film, and her relationship with Steve is very genuine as they teach each other how life works in their own worlds, and the message that Steve tells Diana is a really good message! And when Diana finally appears as Wonder Woman and kicks ass, It is awesome and badass to watch!
Bottom line, this is one of those films that comic book fans waited years to see and really delivers! Which leads to one question, will this lead to better DC movies, or is it just a lucky shot in the dark? We'll see when Justice League comes out (Don't screw with us Zack Snyder!)
Whether you're a DC enthusiast or just someone who likes comic book movies, then you should really check this out! But I must warn you that this movie doesn't have enough patriotism since they don't mention America at all and Wonder Woman doesn't wear her usual American underwear in this film...............Yeah, It's just some random bulls*it that Fox News is complaining about! Seriously, who cares about that s*it other than dumb Trump voters?!
I give this movie a 9/10!

My message to moviegoers and buffs
I like to start off by saying that over the past weekend, I actually went and did something that I considered unthinkable for me to do for more than a decade now... I saw the Twilight films... And yes... they're pretty bad... they're stupid, a lot of the decisions the main characters (Bella, Edward and Jacob) make are baffling, they have horrible CG effects, they really give the impression that they were mostly made as eye candy for vampire loving teenage girls to get them in theater seats, and I'm still a tad salty that the whole franchise overshadowed good or even great films like Fantastic Mr. Fox, The Princess and the Frog, and Rise of the Guardians at the box office, but... I wouldn't say watching them at least once was a COMPLETE waste of time. As boring as I found the first two (Twilight and New Moon) for the most part, I did get a bit of enjoyment out of Eclipse for how self-aware it was, and the franchise definitely had it's fair share of moments that were so dumb they
Best Animated Feature Reviews: 2020
Holy s***... Just when we thought the last few years were bad... Thankfully it looks like we reached the beginning of the end of the pandemic (Thank you Joe Biden, Pfizer, Johnson & Johnson, etc.), but in the meantime, we must continue to keep our distance and keep washing our hands and wearing masks in public even if you're already vaccinated! With that said, it's time to look at the Best Animated Feature nominees once again! Granted, we didn't get as many animated films in 2020 as we could have thanks to the coronavirus, but luckily, a lot of them still managed to be released through streaming services, and we even managed to have quite a solid year for animated features, with a lot of them ranging from solid to amazing. And this years nominees for Best Animated Feature are absolutely no exception! Let's take a look! I have a confession...
While Helluva Boss and Hazbin Hotel are still good in my eyes, my appreciation for them is a bit tainted unfortunately. I can't exactly look at them the same way anymore cause I kinda got into an argument with Vivziepop on Twitter a while back after she criticized Disney when they announced the closing of Blue Sky (Which I thought was unfair cause I always thought the closing of Blue Sky wasn't entirely Disney's fault), I may have went a little too far with it, and she blocked me... I'm trying not to let it get to my head, but it's kinda hard not to think about the incident whenever I watch her stuff or hear someone else talk about her, knowing that she probably hates me now...
R.I.P. Blue Sky Studios (1987-2021)
I'm gonna be honest, I was never the biggest fan of Blue Sky. I mean, they're not a terrible studio or anything, and at best their films CAN be enjoyably good (Examples: Ice Age 1, Robots, Horton Hears a Who!, Rio, Epic and my favorite of the bunch, The Peanuts Movie)
I just don't think they ever reached the high standards of Walt Disney Animation Studios, Pixar or even DreamWorks during the Jeffrey Katzenberg era, since they seemingly just wanted to play it safe throughout most of their history. Plus, the Ice Age franchise was really getting out of hand by the 4th and 5th films.
Still, It's sad to see them go, and I'm especially sorry for

I hated the Batman V Superman movie.
